Hello everyone and this is Paul Laudati, Owner/Operator/CEO of Clear Day Cables,
Thanks again for all the heartfelt comments, support and well-wishes over these many years.
I’d like to tell you a bit about myself as I am a music lover like and have been so my entire life.
Like many of us, I’ve worn many hats over the years, but audio and exercise has always played quite a big part in my life and still does.
As a child, my earliest memories was the fact that my wonderful parents always had some kind of music flowing through our modest home.
The radio was perpetually on in the car when we went on those Sunday rides too and it was absolutely magical.
That is until we went through a tunnel and that AM radio went to sleep for a spell.
As a bonus, Mom had quite a good voice and sang all her waking hours.
She seemed to know the words to every song in the world as well and sang me to sleep many times when I was sure that monster was lurking under my bed.
I think I was about 6 or 7 and on a treasure hunt through a cabinet in the living room when I discovered over 100 records of the 45 variety stacked on each other and looking so lonely.
I asked Mom about them and she proudly said those were the records Dad and her bought while they dated in the mid 50s.
Moreover, she encouraged me to put them on our record player if I so desired.
So, I had at it and instantaneously, a new medium of beautiful sonic vibrations was added to my soul and has embedded itself there ever since.
Sad to say, to this day I’ve never understood why that hound dog could never catch a rabbit, but I’ll leave it to scholars of our time to decipher that enigma….
Soon, it was piano lessons for little Mozart and although I did well, I got caught with other things young people do in grammar school and gave it up.
I did learn guitar in HS and even now can struggle through a 3 chord progression on a good day.
Speaking of HS, with the help of Dad, I was able to combine my savings with his gift and buy the coolest Technics receiver, BIC turntable/Empire cartridge, and a pair of Acoustiphase Monitor Speakers on the block.
Of course, as years rolled on my love for audio continued to grow as did my financial abilities to purchase more sophisticated gear.
I’d say it was in my 40s though that I had my greatest breakthrough as not only was I learning about audio gear, but the keen differences in the magical conductor that had to carry that important signal from point A to point B.
As I studied what metal conducted electricity the best, I was quite surprised to learn that silver sat atop the charts with copper second in line.
I had heard of all silver cables before, but had never owned any as copper or silver plated copper had always done the trick for me.
I was quite curios though and as I searched he market for silver speaker cables to buy, I realized I could not get second job to do so.
In lieu of this, like many of us, I decided to make my own speaker cables from pure silver conductor to learn what would transpire.
Over the next 4-5 years, that was my quest and I did so by trying this type silver and that, this gauge and that, this dielectric and that, as well as these and those termination types.
In the end, after much trial and error, I arrived at my current successful recipe and started Clear Day Cables back in 2007 – 2008.
By the Grace of God I’m going stronger than ever and am eternally grateful to have the opportunity to help many improve their audio systems.
Thank you for reading my story, please feel free to ask whatever you wish, and may God bless you all,
Paul Laudati Clear Day Cables
